Stephen M. Pease, CFP® Professional, and Investment Advisor Representative. He currently holds a Life and Health and Accident license for Colorado and New Mexico.
Prior to joining Oxford Asset Management, Steve worked for twenty-one years at Mobil Oil Corporation as a geophysicist and technical information manager in production and exploration. His experience spans across a wide range of petroleum and IT projects including: effectively managing multi-million dollar budgets; designing, implementing, and participating in the largest (at the time) 3d seismic survey in Nigeria; and being influential in a highly successful reservoir management project in Indonesia. During his tenure with Mobil, Steve spent more than a decade living and working in Indonesia, Nigeria, Vietnam, and Venezuela gaining invaluable international experience
Steve is a founding member and former Vice President of Durango's original chapter of Business Network International the Professional Business Builders of Durango. Steve completed the Leadership La Plata course in 2009 and then joined the steering committee for Leadership La Plata.
Steve is a board member of the Durango Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Durango Chamber of Commerce Diplomat, a Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA) certified ski instructor. He was voted Purgatory Kids Ski School Rookie of the Year (2003-2004). Steve volunteered for the District Accountability Advisory Committee (DAAC) for Durango School District 9R.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Engineering degree from Colorado School of Mines after graduating from Durango High School in 1975. He is an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoys golfing (single digit handicap), skiing, scuba diving, sailing, hiking, and running (completed the Durango Marathon and Imogene Pass run and most recently the San Antonio marathon). Steve resides in Durango, Colorado and has two daughters.
David W. Smiley CFP® Professional, joined Oxford Asset Management in 2008 as an Investment Advisor Representative. Dave has been an investor for more than 30 years. Dave has a Series 65 license (registered as a Uniform Investment Advisor), and maintains his Colorado Life and Health Insurance license.
Prior to joining Oxford Asset Management, Dave was a scientist for twenty-seven years. His experience includes fifteen years working as a Process Development Scientist at Amgen, Inc., a global human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry. Dave managed a group that assisted in commercialization activities for several Amgen products (KepivanceTM, AranespTM, KineretTM). His strengths include project management, supervising teams and employees, problem solving, effective communication, and troubleshooting.
Dave's professional development includes courses in Situational Self-Leaderships for Managers; Managing Change; Employment Law for Managers; Managing Performance Issues; Time Management; Design of Experiments (DOE); and Leading at Amgen with 360 degree feedback. He was a member of the American Society for Microbiology (1979-2007) and the Society of Industrial Microbiology (1991-2007).
Dave holds a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Microbiology from Miami University. Dave is currently the secretary for the Durango Daybreak Rotary club and a former vice-president of a local chapter of Business Network International.
He has lived in Colorado since 1981 and enjoys Colorado history, reading, hiking, and long walks with his golden retriever. Dave and his wife of 33 years, Gloria, moved to Durango in 2008.
